Championship Golf Courses

The latter was ranked by Golf Magazine as the “Best New Course of 2008.” Wild Rock encompasses 18 holes and boasts a beautiful natural landscape marked by an old stone quarry, forested area with a stream, and farmland with a traditional red barn. On a clear day, you can see 30 miles away to the Baraboo Bluffs.

The Pines is ideal for golfers of all ages and abilities, while The Oaks and Wild Rock offer challenges for intermediate and advanced golfers. Regardless of the course you choose, the environment is always picturesque and peaceful from spring to fall.

The Slopes

The resort is also home to 16 groomed downhill ski runs and a variety of cross-country ski trails. With both beginner and black diamond runs, there’s a slope for everyone, and lessons from experienced ski and snowboard instructors are available for kids and adults who are just getting started. In addition, on-site snow tube and snowshoe rentals provide even more opportunities for winter fun.

Cozy Private Cottages

The private, two-bedroom cottages are equipped with a television and large, rustic fireplace, providing the perfect warm and cozy spot to curl up after a long day of hiking, skiing, or teeing off.

One of the most convenient features the cottages offer is the laundry room. Extra room in your suitcase means more room for travelling necessities like skis, snowboards, or golf clubs.

Local Attractions

Wisconsin Dells is widely known as the Waterpark Capital of the World; in fact, it contains the largest concentration of water parks on the planet! Kalahari, Great Wolf Lodge, and other parks are open almost all year long and feature both indoor and outdoor water attractions. Noah’s Ark Waterpark is one of the biggest in the United States, with over 70 acres of pools, slides, and water rides.

At Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park, you can ride the infamous Hades roller coaster, dubbed the longest underground roller coaster and the only coaster to feature an upside-down barrel roll on a wholly wooden track. The coaster reaches speeds up to 70 mph and features dizzying turns in complete darkness. Other attractions at Mt. Olympus include Poseidon’s Rage, which features waves towering more than nine feet tall. It’s considered to be one of the world’s largest surf pools.

Beyond waterparks, other attractions in the area include the town of Baraboo, which is home to the Circus World Museum. Here families can enjoy a traditional circus show under the big top, complete with jugglers, gravity-defying acrobats, and goofy clowns. Elephant rides and an act featuring trained Bengal-Siberian tigers also provide thrills and fun for kids of all ages. In addition, the museum provides access to what remains of the Ringling Brothers’ winter headquarters during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Visitors can tour several buildings from that era that have been deemed National Historic Landmark Structures.

For adults, Wisconsin Dells also provides gaming fun. Ho-Chunk Casino offers slot machines, blackjack, bingo, poker, baccarat, and craps.

Fun on the Wisconsin River

If the golf courses, pools, tennis court, waterparks, and casino aren’t catching your interest, the Wisconsin River offers plenty of outdoor fun during the warmer seasons.  During summer or spring, it’s the perfect spot for an array of activities like canoeing, kayaking, and boating. The area’s namesake, the Dells of the Wisconsin River—so named for the French word “dalles,” or “narrows”—is a five-mile-long gorge surrounded by steep cliffs. With their unique sandstone formations, the cliffs are a beautiful site to see while boating on the river.
